Huggins Smiles Plan Frequently Asked Questions:
How do I sign up?
Call 864-546-5503 or sign up in-office!Â
What information is required for enrollment?
We will need your full name, date of birth, address, checking account and routing number, and email address. That’s it!
What is the cost of dental care without Huggins Smiles Plan or Dental Insurance?
Two wellness visits can traditionally cost $570-610 for an adult and $540-590 for a child. With Huggins Smiles Plan, that is a cost savings of $300+.
Can I add family members to my Huggins Smiles Plan?
Of course! If you are signing up one or more family members, we will waive the membership activation fee for all additional family members.Â
What forms of payment does the Huggins Smiles Plan accept?
We need a checking account number and routing number to set up ACH (automatic payments) for both monthly and annual options. We do not accept credit cards for the Huggins Smiles Plan memberships.Â
How long does the membership last?
The Huggins Smiles Plan is a 12 month agreement, beginning the day you sign up for the membership. This agreement auto-renews each year, unless canceled prior to renewal.Â
What happens if my membership lapses?
This should not happen due to automatic renewal, but if there is a period of time when you are not a member and you would like to renew, this is no problem! We are happy to welcome you back! There will be an activation fee charged with the renewed enrollment.
Do any unused benefits roll-over from year to year?
Unused benefits do not roll over after 12 month agreement, except for the $500 Lifetime Benefit, should it not have been used previously.
Can I combine my Huggins Smiles Plan with other offers, insurance, or discounts?
The Huggins Smiles Plan cannot be combined with Dental Insurance Benefits or other Dental Discount Plans.
Does the Huggins Smiles Plan cover my initial routine cleaning and new patient appointment?
Yes! Once you enroll, your membership is immediately active!
Will my membership cover my deep cleaning and perio maintenance?
If needed, deep cleanings (full mouth debridement/scaling and root planing) are billed separately at 20% off. The Huggins Smiles Plan covers 2 basic cleanings in the 12 month period. These 2 appts can either be prophylaxis or perio maintenance.Â
What if I miss an appointment?
We require more than 24 hours notice to cancel an appointment. Missed appointments or broken appts within 24 hours are subject to a cancellation fee. We do our best to help patients get scheduled in a timely manner. Ultimately, appointment tracking and scheduling is the member’s responsibility.
How does the $500 Lifetime Benefit work?
The $500 Lifetime Benefit is a one-time $500 credit to be used towards Implant Treatment, Orthodontics, or Cosmetic Dentistry. You must be a current member of the Huggins Smiles Plan to use the $500 Lifetime Benefit. Implant treatment refers to tooth replacement with an implant fixture, abutment and crown. It also refers to placement of implants and attachments for overdentures. Orthodontics refers to clear aligner therapy. Cosmetic Dentistry refers to 4 or more veneers and/or crowns placed for functional and cosmetic purposes.
Is the $500 Lifetime Benefit transferable between family?
The $500 Lifetime Benefit is not transferable between Huggins Smiles Plan members.Â
If I use my $500 Lifetime Benefit, will I get a new $500 Lifetime Benefit at annual renewal of my Huggins Smiles Plan?
The Lifetime Benefit is applied once per person for life. It is not available for a second use.

Can the 10% and 20% discounts and the $500 Lifetime Benefit be combined?
The Huggins Smiles Plan offers the $500 Lifetime Benefit for treatments that the 20% and 10% discounts do not apply towards (Implants, Orthodontics and Cosmetic Dentistry).
Is there anything that the Huggins Smiles Plan does not cover?
The Huggins Smiles Plan does not provide discounts for Botox treatment, dermal filler treatment, teeth whitening or products for purchase.
Can I cancel my plan membership within the 12 month agreement?
The Huggins Smiles Plan is a 12 month agreement. Membership cannot be canceled within the 12 month agreement. Refunds will not apply for the paid dues under any circumstance including failure to schedule or broken appointments. If payments are declined before the initial 12 months, all fees on already completed treatments will backdate to standard prices, and the difference will be owed.Â
How do I cancel my Huggins Smiles Plan renewal?
The member must give verbal or written notice prior to renewal date in order to cancel the Huggins Smiles Plan. If renewal billing has occurred and the member failed to cancel membership prior to billing, the member can still cancel the renewal and receive a refund within 30 days.
